Sustainability

At Plus Architecture, we understand that our projects form more than built environments – they shape the culture, communities and well-being of the people living within them. That's why we learn from the past and engage with the present, pledging our commitment to sustainability through measurable actions that help forge a brighter future.

Environmentally Responsible Design

Plus has a proven track record of delivering sustainable, award-winning projects. We take pride in blending innovative architecture with sustainable practices. As part of our commitment, we adopt the principles of sustainable architecture throughout our design process and avoid specifying products with The Red List ingredients.

We also provide our team training on rating tools like Greenstar, WELL, NaTHERS and NABERS, leveraging our in-house accredited professionals to achieve and push the boundaries of sustainable design.

Carbon Neutrality

In 2020, Plus Architecture joined the Architects Declare movement, committing with over 200 global firms to sustainable practices and Carbon Neutrality. So far, our Auckland, Christchurch, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney studios have each met the requirements for the NoCO2 Program and become certified as Carbon Neutral Businesses by the Carbon Research Institute.

Research and Innovation

A carbon audit illustrated that we already perform as a top-tier (low-emission) business, but we continue researching how to improve our footprint and design processes. Our studios engage in formal and informal focus groups, workshops, and continued learning to bolster professional development and foster new generations of innovative thought leadership. As we look ahead, our dedication to innovative, sustainable design remains unwavering.
