Pure Hampton Apartment Interiors

The design of Pure is in two clear layers which combine and address the surrounding local environment. The rich masonry base features materials used within the local vicinity providing a solid and familiar form. The top however, is distinctively different in its shape. The soft curves are reminiscent of clouds. The penthouse apartment façade is carved to maximise views from the apartments within. Light colours and materials reinforce the sense of floating softly atop the main streetscape.
The four storey multi residential development known as Pure is located in the Melbourne southeast suburb of Hampton. The site is situated on Small Street between Beach Road and the restaurant, café, and shopping precinct of Hampton Street. The new development is within 200 meters of beaches on Port Phillip Bay.
Pure is comprised of approximately 30 apartments. There are design options to combine two apartments creating one substantially larger apartment. The allowance for select purchasers is an opportunity that may provide a smoother transition for a new apartment owner moving from a freestanding home to a luxury apartment.
Material selection is integrated in the design with stone cladding that is robust and reminiscent of its context. The design respects the massing and the scale of the streetscape. The massing in which the building is situated on the corner of Small Street and Railway Crescent echoes the adjacent rhythms of its surrounds. This is refined, considered, and applied to the base portion of the building with retail activation while the nature of the Railway Crescent façade has a fine grain approach.
The ground floor retail spaces reinforce an active street presence and add, integrate, and contribute to the Hampton streetscape. With the main entry addressing Small Street, the development is also conveniently located 200 meters south of the Hampton Railway Station.
Pure is ideally suited for the 55+ age group as a new way of living for those who wish to reside in proximity to public transport, the lively bayside community of Hampton, and the beach.
