Season’s Greetings from Plus
It’s been a big year for Plus Architecture.
This year has seen our teams across Australia and New Zealand grow, and grow again – we’ve nearly doubled in size! We’ve worked on some of our largest projects ever, from masterplanning new cities in Victoria and Queensland, to twin and triple tower developments with 1,000s of apartments, hotel rooms and workspaces.
We’ve completed some iconic projects, such as Gravity Tower in Melbourne’s Fishermans Bend. We’re also working on some groundbreaking projects – from designing and delivering The Pacifica, one of New Zealand’s tallest towers, to collaborating with Zaha Hadid Architects on their first Australian project, 600 Collins.
Speaking of firsts – our Sydney studio are hard at work on our first ever Sydney CBD project, as well as numerous masterplans across the state.
We’ve also won some awards – from our first New Zealand Institute of Architects award for the St Martins Community Centre, to a Planning Institute of Australia award for our LOGIS Eco-Industrial Park and a Polytec Design Award for our Brisbane studio’s outstanding work on the workplace fitout of the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registry – not to mention a raft of nominations and shortlistings for projects across Australia and New Zealand.
Our leadership team has grown; we’ve appointed five new directors this year as well as over 10 new associates. We’ve attracted leading, experienced international talent with outstanding expertise in aviation, workplace design, retail, hospitality and commercial architecture and interiors. Our portfolio has expanded rapidly to include large scale hospitality, health and commercial projects.
We launched our first West Australian studio, which is leading the way in design and delivery in a rebounding market, and we will shortly be launching our Gold Coast studio, where we’re currently designing multiple outstanding residential and hospitality projects.
It’s been an amazing year. So we’ve decided to give a bit back this holiday season. Our studios pooled together to donate to a range of deserving charities, including Oxfam – delivering much needed supplies to communities in need, and Women’s Legal Services in Queensland, who provide free legal support and social work services to at-risk women across the state. It was also our pleasure to work on a range of pro bono projects including refurbishments for the Port Phillip Specialist School.
Our thanks to all our wonderful clients, suppliers, consultants and builders for an amazing year, and a special thanks to our wonderful team across the Plus studios for their incredible hard work and dedication.
Here’s to 2018.
