Plus Architecture strives to provide unique designs that enhance the residential experience in developments for the aged. Architectural quality, liveability, and response to context are important considerations that drive our designs of projects for independent living. Our designs aim to engage the residents through open, well-lit spaces, and the provision of landscaped courtyards, balconies and pathways, linking to the surrounding community and neighbourhood beyond.

It features 77 independent living apartments with communal areas, basement car parking, and retail tenancies. Located on the main street of Brighton the challenge was to be respectful to the neighbouring Victorian retail face whilst making an innovative architectural contribution. The design solution physically annexes the two existing buildings, allowing them to be integrated and celebrated through rhythm and detailing complexity. In this urban context, residential community is forged through the idea of a garden facade, allowing for privacy and identity in a uniform way.
