Plus welcomes new Director Luke Henderson

Solidifying its position in the international market, Plus Architecture has announced design talent Luke Henderson will be joining the practice as Director.

The former Gensler Design Director brings 14 years of experience and an impressive portfolio that spans across the globe. Having demonstrated excellence across retail, hospitality, commercial and residential sectors, Henderson’s profile is internationally recognised.

Announcing the appointment, Plus Architecture Director Craig Yelland attributed the practice’s continued success to its people.

“By focusing on the growth of our staff, we grow our business – investing in a highly specialised, engaged and diverse workforce allows us to consistently exceed our client’s expectations and deliver on a broad range of exciting, challenging projects,” said Yelland.

“Now in our 20th year and with expanding studios across Australia and New Zealand, it is paramount that we bolster our team with the best talent possible.”

Assuming a key design leadership role both locally and internationally, Henderson will join fellow director Danny Juric in leading the practice’s Brisbane office, which after just three years already accounts for 25% of Plus Architecture’s current portfolio.

“Leveraging Henderson’s global expertise and networks, we will create gateways into new international markets and greater opportunities for knowledge sharing,” said Juric.

“We’re in a unique position. Our firm is growing on the back of demand for international architectural excellence, and simple good service. Our clients continue to invest into Brisbane and desire to surround themselves with dependable, experienced and accountable teams. This is what Plus adds,” Juric said.

“Sharing our holistic design approach and commitment to project delivery, Luke will be a true asset to the team and will solidify our position in the international market,” said Juric.

When speaking of his newest role and move to Australia Henderson said he was attracted to Plus Architecture’s progressive designs, processes and strategic initiatives.

“The decision to relocate from Chicago was made all the easier by Plus Architecture’s amazing design culture, talent, passion for design, and natural collaboration. It was these aspects that inspired me to take up the role here,” said Henderson.

“I am excited to join a practice of Plus Architecture’s calibre and to work alongside a team of renowned experts, for whom architecture and design is more than just a job,” said Henderson.
