One Palm Beach sets new standard for beachfront living
Situated on the edge of pristine sands, facing the Pacific Ocean, ONE Palm Beach is setting a new standard for absolute beachfront living.
This exclusive residential project sees Velocity Property Group partner with international architecture and interior design practice Plus Architecture, to deliver an exquisite collection of multi-million dollar apartments.
Not only is ONE Palm Beach satisfying the demand at the top end of the market, but it has also created a new opportunity for those who are seeking to downsize their home, while being in a location that suits their lifestyle.
Veiled by Burleigh Heads and removed from the noise and hustle, the community of Palm Beach provides the perfect location for a residential development that compliments the natural beauty of the coastal landscape, engages with the subtropical climate, whilst delivering an address of sophistication and status.
“The architecture captures the essence of place, combining design and nature, to set a new benchmark for Palm Beach,” said Plus Architecture Director, Danny Juric.
Featuring just 17 residences, each apartment has panoramic views from the Pacific Ocean to the Gold Coast hinterlands.
With only two apartments per floor, the three and four bedroom homes have uninterrupted 180 degree vistas, extending North to Surfers Paradise and South to Coolangatta. While the full floor penthouse takes advantage its top floor elevation, boasting 360 degree views.
Engaging with these views and drawing upon the landscape, were fundamental in the design of ONE Palm Beach. Plus Architecture endeavoured to create a set-piece within the landscape that sought to highlight, rather than detract from, the surrounding beauty of the shoreline setting. The building’s form and articulation is directly inspired by the context.
“The fluid forms are inspired by the motion of the waves and folding of the water, a fine balance of materiality and geometry that compliments the environment,” said Juric.
“We designed One Palm Beach to not just feel like home, but to feel at home in its context.”
The façade design seeks to provide unobstructed views, while also a level of elegant articulation. Glass balustrades wrap the building at each level, following the curves of the balconies, while featuring a subtle ‘wave’ façade pattern.
The design of the external screening further accentuates these patterns, while providing functional sun shading. The hinterland facing façade cascades down the building, with a series of private terraces, finding completion in a sculptural awning that gracefully balances above the pool area.
At ground level the attention to design continues, with the thoughtful integration of entry and recreation spaces into both the building fabric and into the environment. Residents and their guests are greeted at the address by contextually appropriate landscaping and an entry arbour, whose geometries resonate with the building façade.
An integrated green wall continues along the procession to the entrance foyer, while lush planting provides intimacy to the outdoor lounge. The private beach access meanders past the exclusive yoga deck – consistent with the laid back lifestyle of Palm Beach. These spaces seek to create a harmonious dialogue with the coastal landscape and take advantage of the subtropical climate, while still maintaining privacy.
Plus Architecture sought to carry this principle into the design of the residences themselves. There is a soft transition from exterior to interior, encouraging seamless indoor/outdoor living. The generous private balconies and terraces serve to extend not only the main open-plan living spaces, but also the bedrooms and media rooms.
Full height operable glass doors slide open to invite the outdoors in, while high ceilings and expansive glazing allow the resident to not only capture the expansive views, but also the cool sea breeze and maximise natural daylight.
The interior design of ONE Palm Beach, considers the desires of those who are seeking a more refined and maintenance-free lifestyle, but who do not want to sacrifice sophistication and comfort. The design of bespoke joinery and the selection of premium fixtures, fittings and elegant finishes, are all quintessential.
Thoughtfully considered design inclusions, such as a separate gourmet butler’s pantry, to compliment the open plan kitchens, are what distinguish these residences, but make them ‘home.’
Master bedrooms contain generous walk in robes with their ensuites furnished with soaking tubs, positioned to capture the ocean views. The linear floor plans allow each living space and bedroom access to natural light and ventilation. Combined with the development’s solar and energy storage technology, this provides lower costs through energy consumption, for each residence.
ONE Palm Beach has indeed set a new standard in absolute beachfront living. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Queensland Coast, in both form and function, this residential development delivers sophistication and status, along with an appealing lifestyle, for those seeking more than just rudimentary apartment living.
