An elegant and welcoming reflection of water and movement, H1 is the latest design to come from Plus Architecture.

Located on the corner of Harbour Esplanade and Docklands Drive, this innovative waterfront design offers contemporary city living with approx 300 apartments over 22 levels, as well as an exclusive supper club for residents to relax and entertain in, library, and gym.

The design seeks to bring together the new wave in apartment mixed use planning, the harbour site and the gateway location of this significant site.

The apartment tower is wrapped by a distinctive architectural form spiraling and curling around its slender tall shape. Across the Docklands drive side the ribbon develops a dynamic wave that provides a distinctive point of difference to any other tower in Melbourne.

These elements unify the tower into one strong elegant marker to welcome all those entering Melbourne’s Docklands.

Introducing vitality and excitement to the burgeoning built environment of Melbourne’s Southbank, this important development will be one of the most architecturally significant buildings in the area.

As well as the 108 hotel rooms and 176 private apartments, commercial and retail tenancies, the proposed development will also house a gymnasium, pool, business centre, concierge, and retail facilities.

Notably, the project will retain the existing Edwardian façade on City Road by developing a unique, grand foyer for the new tower behind.

Located at the heart of the very best Melbourne has to offer and with almost 360 degree views, the tower has a spectacular outlook.

Great architecture questions, challenges, charms and delights.
Design acts as a lens through which we experience the world around us. Great design lets us see more clearly.
The picture of the saucer is not important – the once a year advent of a ray of light is. Rarity is so rare these days.

The Babcock & Brown Communities (formally known as Primelife) corporate office fit out is a 2000sqm project featuring a large portion of open plan workstations and generously appointed staff lounge, training rooms and public meeting zone. The brief was to create a relaxed corporate environment, achieved through a mix of stylish, relaxed break out areas versus the more formal reception and meeting room spaces. The open plan layout is designed to suit the ever changing needs of an office environment. The flexible layout will significantly reduce future churn costs and work towards a continued environmentally sustainable work place.

The space planning provides equitable access to natural light for all staff, and the successful space efficacies have afforded a trafficable corridor around the perimeter.

The office layout reflects a corporate office culture that encourages staff interaction. We appreciate that not all productive work is carried out in meeting rooms and workstations.
