Wrap, Southbank

16.10.2008
Wrap, Southbank features over 40 levels with a mix of highly livable apartment typologies: hotel rooms, two bedroom/two bathroom apartments with penthouse apartments at the upper levels.

Introducing vitality and excitement to the burgeoning built environment of Melbourne’s Southbank, this important development will be one of the most architecturally significant buildings in the area.

As well as the 108 hotel rooms and 176 private apartments, commercial and retail tenancies, the proposed development will also house a gymnasium, pool, business centre, concierge, and retail facilities.

Notably, the project will retain the existing Edwardian façade on City Road by developing a unique, grand foyer for the new tower behind.

Located at the heart of the very best Melbourne has to offer and with almost 360 degree views, the tower has a spectacular outlook.

Nott Street, Port Melbourne

1.06.2008
Nott Street is a project won by Plus Architecture to design a multi-residential apartment building for the Buxton Group, and is a testament to Plus’ ever-growing folio of successful residential developments.

Inspired by its Port-side surroundings, the design is informed by the characteristics of both modern day and historic shipping ports – ocean setting, towering cranes, cargo shipping containers, historic sailing ships and modern day cruise ships, whilst simultaneously overlaying a contemporary architectural language to the design.

The distinctive façade framing is influenced by the skyscraping cranes scattered across the city Ports.  Dark glass is set back behind the façade to generate layering and depth.

Contrastingly, the Eastern side of the building is oriented towards the CBD with picturesque views of the city skyline.

Society, South Yarra

13.11.2007
Located in the heart of South Yarra on Bray Street between Simmons and Ellis Street, Society is a pioneering development for Australia.

Coined a vertical village, Society represents a new generation of living. Designed specifically to sit in harmony with its surrounds, as it steps up to 9 storeys and then up to 12 storeys to the south. The design response takes on a duality of form that wraps around itself on elevation.

The white rectilinear form harmoniously juxtaposes with a strong, dark curvaceous body that drapes over the lower form.

Appointed like a boutique hotel, Society offers a sophisticated lobby with doorman , ground floor reception bar, the ‘Dining Room’ restaurant, ‘Socialite’ bar, ‘Loaf’ produce store / café and ‘Mum’ launderette.

A stand out feature will be the ‘Blue Moon’ outdoor cinema, bar and the Society wellbeing centre located on Level 10 of the building, while Level 12 provides a private residents-only oasis including a library, gymnasium, outdoor terrace and hydro pool.

The Avenues, NewQuay

13.11.2007
The Avenues at NewQuay are a synthesis of elegance and contemporary design, inspired by Melbourne’s rich architectural history and Victoria Harbour’s industrial past. Uniquely sited in one of Melbourne’s last true water front developments, the Avenues at NewQuay will capture uninterrupted vistas to Victoria Harbour and surrounding parklands.

The Avenues represent a new level of luxury for Melbourne’s rejuvenated Docklands, with 3 storey townhouses perched upon a reconstituted wharf. Each townhouse will have its own distinctive design, featuring a lap pool, four car garage, wine cellar, home theatre, home office, elevators and three or four bedrooms as well as large entertaining terraces.

The precinct will be a peaceful haven where residents can enjoy parks and marinas at their doorstep - all this while only being minutes away from Melbourne’s CBD.
