3 Tier Approach to ESD
10.11.2007| Plus Architecture is committed to best practise ESD resolution in all our projects. We encourage a three tier approach to ESD:
From a macro level, Director Rainer Strunz and Head of Interior Design Amy McArthur are both Greenstar Accredited Professionals who are committed to utilizing the best practice ESD in all our buildings. The second is from detailed engineering solutions. To ensure delivery of a complete ESD solution, the Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic designs must work together. We work closely with all of the services Greenstar Accredited Professionals to ensure the input and coordination of their ideas. The third is through constant review. We propose using an external ESD consultant to constantly review the design to look for ways of improving the ESD outcome and to determine the pre-assessment rating. |

ESD & Offices
8.11.2007| “If we can design and build furniture which not only lasts twice as long, but users will still want to sit on it in 10 years’ time because of its timeless quality and looks, then we will have halved the environmental impact of our office furniture.
“Upfront cost of this process may be susbstantial but this investment will be cheaper in the long run. Another option is produce take-back, where manufacturers offer to take back products at the end of their initial life, for remanufacturing or reuse.” Ralph Horne, Director, Centre for Design at RMIT University. |
