27.08.2008| “Although I’ve seen the Great Pyramid, St Peter’s, the Colosseum, New York’s skyscrapers, the Golden Gate and other magnificent buildings, it’s even more awe-inspiring to look at some of the Melbourne buildings I’ve documented in the past 20 years.
Documenting is a specialist skill in architecture and has led me to explore new dimensions in my profession. It is a great belief for graduates of building and design courses that they will be thrust into the world of design as soon as they land their first fulltime job. This is not the case. It is essential that students of architecture and drafting learn that a building is not only driven by its aesthetic appearance, it is also essential that the detailing of the building is structurally sound. You cannot design a building if you don’t know how it is going to be built.” |

Since moving to Plus Architecture in 2001, my career has taken off in much more of a design direction. A company is nothing without its people and as a director, I channel much of my energy into human performance.” |
