Bursting at the seams with talent – Melbourne appoints two new Associates!

It’s easy to see the expansion of Plus Architecture Melbourne as a similar success story to that of our city; both are growing at a tremendous rate and as a result of our diverse and deeply talented gene pool.

You make your own luck in life but being talented and working hard sure ups your chances, and both Areej Hashmi-Weyman and Katherine Christian are the living embodiment of this!

Areej has only been working at Plus for just under 2 years but her ascent has been stellar due to her fantastic attitude and character as a person. Always playing for the team and willing to share her deep knowledge, Areej is a wonderful fit no matter what project. As we know, managing client relationships is a major part of the role as an architect, the client is king and must be handled with care and Areej is a skilled professional able to traverse even the most complex situations.

“Working with Areej is simply a joy. She is incredibly competent which adds a level of comfort and calm to any project under her control. She thoroughly deserves to be an Associate and I look forward to working with her for a long time into the future.”

– Director, Ian Briggs

Katherine has worked at Plus since graduating in 2013 and we have been lucky enough to see her blossom into the highly capable Associate she has become.

Having led the charge on success stories like Belle Apartments in Box Hill, Reflections in North Melbourne and Esque Apartments in South Yarra, Katherine has made a name for herself as a diligent leader who is focused on excellent project delivery.

Katherine’s attention to detail and collaborative design process enables her to jump into a project at any stage and produce high quality of work. Katherine is great to work with and always creates a positive culture with clients, consultants and colleagues.

“Katherine manages teams with great leadership and acts as a mentor for many of her colleagues in the office. She has an incredible understanding of projects from start to finish and delivers outstanding quality of work. This promotion is very well deserved.”
