‘Camouflage’ Series by Georgia Ezra
10.11.2009| As one of Plus’ newest team members, Georgia Ezra is a talented Interior Designer recently graduated from the University ofNew South Wales.
A couple of weeks ago at the PYD markets, Georgia displayed her ‘Camouflage’ furniture series. Cleverly constructed for the placement and stacking of books, the piece is both artwork and display unit in one. The size, form and thickness of the Perspex structure allows for varying functions from seating, bedside table, coffee table, low tables for a bar, office or restaurant space. Georgia was inspired by the illusion of books piled one on top of the other with no support system. As the books are consciously organised in a shifted manner by a hidden system, there is a sense of structure and controlled chaos. Non-intrusive and tailored to ones specific design scheme and style of space; camouflaging within and taking on the setting it is placed into. |
