21/2/08 ‘Architect of Her Own Destiny’, The City Weekly

21.02.2008
“Andromeda Hutchins is enjoying a stellar career with a company she loves working for.

On an anecdotal note:

High ceilings are the new black. I would love to see higher ceilings come back into our expectations for the spaces we live in.

Your career highlight?

Having a job at a firm where it feels like one  big  family – I actually look forward to going to work each day.

Words of wisdom:

Don’t be scared to stand up for something that you believe in. if you believe in an idea with passion and conviction, people get excited!”

20/2/08 ‘NewQuay Unlocks a Career’, The Age

20.02.2008
“I believe architecture is more than aesthetics; there needs to be a thorough understanding of the intricacies of design beyond just looking cool.

Since moving to Plus Architecture in 2001, my career has taken off in much more of a design direction.

The structure of Plus has allowed for exponential and fantastic prospects for myself and the two other directors of the company.

A company is nothing without its people and as a director, I channel much of my energy into human performance.”

2/2/08 ‘New Era for Fairground’, The Age, Domain

3.02.2008
“While there has been the odd townhouse and apartment project built in Richmond in the past five years, Era is the largest – with 15 townhouses, 140 apartments and three levels of office space.

The project is on the site of the former Cremorne Gardens Amusement Park that opened in the 1860s and was Australia’s first fairground.

The area has since become Melbourne’s mixed-use heartland with commercial, industrial, creative and residential, use side by side.”
